Wow. It’s been a long time. Well, since my last post a lot has happened.
Bob was let go by CNN.
I’ve had to re-learn a lot of things but that’s been good. You have to be versatile, creative, aggressive and always, always on your toes. Luckily, I am a few of those things.
Bob is looking for a job still but has had a lot of positive responses from interested parties. Meanwhile, I’m wondering what’s out there, and I know it’s a lot.
The last story we worked on was the NC Boy Scout. He was found alive after two days in the woods not far from where he wandered from his Boy Scout campsite. We did agreat job covering the story if I do say so myself. We broke it, got the best video and — the most important part — the boy was found alive. After so many tragic endings it felt really good to leave there on a high note. (That was completely obliterated by the fact that a story we had done a week before that could run whenever our show wanted to was missing the stand up at the end. It turns out Atlanta had lost it and they wouldn’t run the piece without it. That meant we had to be back in DC by 630am the next day. It was about 430pm and we were and hour from Charlotte, NC. Bob was not happy and I don’t blame him. It was bullshit.)
